Work and life should never mix. A piece of advice Florin was careful to always keep in mind. Even with the recent events, work still needed to be done. In a business like this, one couldn't afford to take personal time. So far, difficult though it may be, that advice had worked well. Even with her recent... issues, the Racketeers were still prospering, and she played her part. Business was smooth and blossoming, slowly, but steadily.
But it could be better.
As profitable as things were, she wasn't satisfied. Too many gaps, too many missed opportunities. There was more out there, more the others weren't seeing.
Perhaps, they just needed someone to show them.
Of course, that was a just a thought, for the time being. Far too early for it to even leave her lips. Normand would likely have her head if he knew of any such ideas. Besides, there was too much at risk right now, with her first stitchling due to arrive soon.
Still, it was something to build on. Make a strategy, add the details, plan a few things out, and soon, she'd be molding this place like clay.
For now, the first step was to continue her work. That needed supplies, which she seemed to be running somewhat low on. A trip to the territory's market and she'd be set. A few bits of leather, some yarn, maybe a new knife if she stumbled across one... Florin made out the short list in her head as she stepped into the familar market. Most dolls would be killed on sight if seen entering this place. Racketeers, though, could generally come and go as they please, so long as they didn't get too greedy. Not that she ever did. Not benefical in the long run, and not at all lady-like. Too difficult to carry things right now anyways. She wouldn't have even left the tower had she not absolutely needed the bloody things to work. Get what you need, then get back home, she told herself. There's much to be done.
