"Yes. Please," Kuu shot back at Dove as he made his way to the remaining boxes he had interest in. He looked back at her to make sure she wasn't peeking before he started changing out of the Sherlock costume. Then Kuu looked at either box, coming to the conclusion that he couldn't conclude on a decision on which one he would go with next. Another momentary glance at Dove displayed the sudden thought towards her own disinterest in continuing the "doll cos-play". So, he chose the box he had the most interest in, and yet after going through the trouble of opening it all the way to reveal the doll and clothes, all that Kuu stripped from it and put on himself were the striped tie and the greyish blue hat. The tie was of course fake and didn't wrap around the neck, rather it clipped onto the doll's shirt. Kuu found he was able to clip the tie on just the edge of fabric around his neck, and it looked like the real thing almost. Had there been more time that he felt he could give himself, he would have opened the other box for the Dick Tracy overcoat. But the 'Chip' one looked like it would do nicely enough. It fit rather snugly, and Kuu felt he looked rather sharp in it, even though he couldn't see his reflection just yet. "Alright. I guess I'm done then, too. No need to keep you waiting... Especially since this isn't what I even came here for, haha!" he said as he came up to Dove again. "Grab the light and let's go find those batteries already."

She obeyed and scooted herself to look the other way, messing with her needle while staring up at the rest of the boxes. She wondered to herself why they would want to stuff miniature versions of people in boxes as toys. It was a little creepy, when you think about it! A stuffed animal she could understand; but children who had dolls like this must have felt such power to pretend to run their lives. You know, that did sound sort of fun! But it was still creepy.
"'S funny, it's like the humans packaged themselves!" she remarked, resisting the urge to turn and make better conversation while facing him. She tried to imagine what sort of clothes he was going to try on this time; maybe something else snazzy, or if he suddenly felt like being funny, something a girl might wear! When Kuu was finally done, he explained it was time to get going. They'd been side tracked, but Dove didn't mind one bit. The more time to goof off, the better! You could never have enough goofing off time. "Got'cha! Off w'go!" She got herself up off the floor and picked the light up, then put her needle in her pocket. One day she'd lose that needle- what would she do for protection then?
"Right this way!" She lead him out of the isle(walking in a dress was interesting) so they could get back on track; those batteries were here somewhere. "Nice tie, by'th way."

Now, what was that intriguing sound? The sound of a melody, yes, something soft and melodious. It was some human contraption that had been activated, yes, and activation meant life. Life meant ragdolls, yes, which meant soft fabric bodies to be ripped at and dragged back to the Factory for their beloved Father. Yes, yes, YES!
Teeth clicking together in a sinister way, three menacing shapes crept to the entrance of the toy shop - no longer drawn by music, but by the voices of foolish ragdolls. It was rare that machines stepped this far into unclaimed lands, but a young skullbeast's curiosity was parallel to that of a cat. Move silent, stalk slowly, pounce and claim. Perhaps these dolls could even be used as a source of entertainment should the Fabrication Machine choose not to take them apart.
Sinister claws clicking against the tiled floor, the two rat and weasel skullbeasts peered around an isle to take note of their prey. One of the rats was drawn to such an excited state that it released an excited chatter, after which the weasel leapt out from behind the display rack and into full view of the two dolls. Red eyes alight with the thrill of the hunt, it let out a shrill screech before lunging for the taller of the two dolls - the one whom looked most able to defend himself. He would have to be taken down first.

"Thanks. I could've used a more professional look, I thought," Kuu remarked as they made it out of the doll isle. Tapping noises could be heard, which alarmed him as they didn't sound like they came from outside. Whatever it was exactly it didn't sound like the pitter-patter of stitchlings, that was for sure. Once again, the older anima wanted to act the wiser as well in trying to not worry Dove about it. It was all too tragically apparent that it was now beyond keeping things from her in this case, as a very audible chattering was heard. As Kuu reached into his bag, he was then startled by the sight of the Machine that had just come out from the other isle. Quickly, he scrambled for the weapon he mentioned earlier, yet the automate creature was approaching to fast for him to use it properly right away. Instead, Kuu made a last minute reaction, dipping his shoulder and dashing to the side of the skullbeast's intended direction, opposite Dove. He didn't stop to glare it down so as to give it a chance to swipe at him with a claw or clamp of teeth. The little more than half a foot tall stitchupunk booked across the floor towards the wall perpendicular to the isles. As soon as Kuu reached the bottom of a toy castle, he turned around. The weapon that he finally gripped hold of was out of the bag and aimed at the skullbeast. It was a small yet effective makeshift crossbow, already loaded and just needed a pull on it's arming lever to prepare it to fire that Kuu already tugged on as soon as the weapon was out. After aiming well, he triggered it and launched a miniature harpoon like dart at the skullbeast. It wasn't powerful enough to really damage the automaton but enough to perhaps keep its attention away from his rather defenseless ragdoll companion. "MOVE IT, DOVE! Find some place the other way where they can't reach you!" he shouted to the girl before entering the plastic toy castle. The castle wasn't indestructible to say the least, yet it would hold up as shelter for at least a few moments. Hopefully the weasel beast would be obstructed long enough for him to develop a solid strategy. He fought the urge to peer out of the castle and see what Dove was doing or if the skullbeast was after her. Kuu had a hunch they would be after him first since he could fight back, and he would gladly paint a target on himself for now if it meant she'd get away safely. "Perhaps we could trap the Machines in the store...?" he considered as he reached into his bag to grab hold of another dart to load into the crossbow.

"Well it certainly is very professional!" Dove agreed, nodding once. She was oblivious to their being stalked, thinking nothing of the light sound of steps. They were alone here after all, and she would know if someone else were following them. Probably. That chitter chatter, however, brought it to her attention that something suspicious could be happening. It'd been quite some time since she'd seen a wild beast romping about looking for prey, but she knew that whatever that was could not be sounded by a mere stitchpunk. Maybe a toy went off? She tried to reassure herself, glancing around and keeping a normal pace. Dove was far too happy a girl to thinking about such terrible things, like a beast stopping their descent into the store to make them its lunch. They did eat them right? When a doll got taken, she knew it wasn't likely they'd be seen again- they had to do something to dispose of them. Then again, she didn't know much about beasts. Wouldn't it just be fascinating to study them.
"Kuu?" Then there it was. A real, live, beast. Right there ahead of them! It took Dove a moment to register what was happening; this was a bad thing. A beast was a bad thing! She was stunned in a numbing way as it made a horrific noise, then took a step forward- not a step really, more like it ran at them. Not even Dove- but Kuu! It was going to get Kuu, her first real friend! Oh no, nonono! Dove was shaking all over with fright that chilled her from the inside out, but there was no way that beast was going to take away her oh-so-nice friend! Having dropped the light by now, she grabbed her needle (it took a bit of trouble, having to get to her pocket under the dress) and pointed it right at that darned, red eyed beast. "You-you-!" Her voice shook almost as much as her little body, right now she was even more helpless and child like than when not under stress. This was the first time she'd been this close to a beast, and it was not as fun as she thought it would be. Not that she imagined it'd be any fun at all, though.
With her needle out and arms shaking, Dove did anything but attack. Her legs didn't seem to want to move- that beast could easily snap her in half, and oh she couldn't bare to think about it! I'm going to faint. The poor shaken girl hardly knew what had happened, but Kuu had taken the beasts focus on him to his advantage and got the nasty thing away from her. She'd feel thankful if her mind was working enough to let her feel thankful at all, which it wasn't. Kuu's stern commands brought her back into the world of thought, and forced a burst of energy into her legs. She ran alright! She flung herself in the direction away from Kuu and the distracted beast, feathers and dress flapping; having no idea where to go. She had to hide- she had to stay alive. For Carol, and all the lovely feathered creatures she had to have the world remember! That didn't stop her from shouting "Don't kill me!" out of trauma and dropping her needle, though. A series of wailing and whines came after, as she found her into an isle. Dove climbed up onto a shelf close to the ground and scrambled to get behind some packaged alien like stuffed animals and plastic toys. Maybe they couldn't see her if she just hid in the back here. This part was where she had to keep her mouth shut, to which Dove had to clamp her hands over her twitching mouth. She sat directly behind a pinkish colored stuffed animal, knees to her chest and faced the back of the shelf. Kuu, don't die and save me! If she could cry, she'd be sobbing. This probably wasn't the best way to act when having a close encounter with a beast in a beast filled world, but it reminded her of the time one nearly sniffed her out and killed her. She did not want to die. Especially when she just met Kuu! She hoped he'd be alright; Dove would feel just awful if he got hurt because he tried to protect her.
One minute she wanted to study the savage beasts, the next she wanted to have them killed. Stay calm. Stay calm. Stay calm.

The weasel skullbeast's jaws clacked together just an inch from the fabric of its intended target. How infuriating! How dare the little doll defy such loyal followers of the great Fabrication Machine! Claws skidding against the smooth floor beneath it, the weasel's legs thrashed about uselessly before it was finally able to find enough traction to turn itself in the direction its prey had fled in. By the time it was able to focus on its quarry, a weapon had been drawn. A sudden pain struck the side of its face, and an aud-piercing roar of rage hit the air once it was apparent the fired dart had cracked one of the weasel's malevolent red eyes. "//UUURRRAAAAHHHHHH!//"
Snarling viciously, the weasel raised a paw to rub at the cracked eye before it snapped its attention on the shape that was disappearing behind the plastic wall of some human-made thing. NO! It must not escape! Stalking up to the castle, the weasel bared its fangs and inspected any window or opening it could find, trying to locate the larger doll. Upon finding the door the doll had used to enter the castle, the weasel skullbeast didn't think twice before sticking its head through the same opening. Claws scraping against the plastic floor, it attempted to squeeze inside, but its haunches served too wide to be able to fit through the narrow doorway.
Overwhelmed with the weasel skullbeast's ferocious attack, the two rats hung back when it flung itself after the most worthy victim. If a machine could look put off, the two rats were considerably irritated. Why did the weasel always have to claim the best prey for himself? One rat continued to watch the assault, bristling, but the other noticed the fleeing shape of the smaller stitchpunk. Prey was still prey, no matter how useful it might be for receiving praise from their mighty father. Nudging its brother and chattering, the two rats darted after the shape of the feathered doll just as it rounded an isle. The pathetic, frightened cries of the doll made it easy to follow.
Beady red eyes scanning the area, the claws of the rats made soft tapping sounds as they skittered over the tile of the correct isle, perking up their ears for any stray sound or indication of where the doll had hidden itself. Chatter chatter, find and capture!

Kuu's gears almost stopped as soon as the beast's head shot through the doorway he just came through. He let the shadows keep him hidden for the moment, and didn't make another move until he was sure the skullbeast couldn't crawl any further into the castle. After slowly closing his optics, they opened and darted around to see what possible items or escape routes were at his disposal within the toy building. Nothing as far as useful items could be seen... aside from a soldier figurine that had been knocked down when the automaton had shook the castle trying to enter it. It was in the back corner just in front of a staircase that led up to the top of the castle. Seeing this, Kuu then quietly as possible removed the doll sports jacket from around himself and as he dashed towards the staircase, he flung the clothing over the figurine so that it lay over like a blanket. Perhaps the robotic creature would see the toy as himself cowering underneath the doll jacket? (if it payed any attention to it at all) As quietly as possible, Kuu climbed the plastic stairs step by step.

The feathered stitchpunk kept quiet, and still as a mouse. Her imagination wandered; what happened if Kuu got taken away and those violent beasts forgot about her? She'd be left alone and with guilt that she couldn't help. Or, what if SHE got found and taken away, and Kuu had to save her. Though, Kuu could leave her too, but he was too nice for that! Right? This waiting was making her nervous, as she could hear the larger beast as it moved on the floor, certainly trying to get her friend. But wait; those weren't the only sounds of movement she heard. The other machines! She'd hardly taken notice of them in her mad dash to get away from the bigger one. Now, they were after her, and she was defenseless. She'd gone and dropped her needle, just like she predicted she would(though she thought it would be much much later when she'd lose it).
Her hands stayed glued tight against her mouth as she listened; the little tip tapping of the two machines feet were very audible to the frightened girl. They couldn't find her- she was safe. She was safe. If she was quiet, they wouldn't hear her either, so she dared not to move even half an inch. Her very life depended on it! One of these days the beasts were going to pay; she'd have them all put into big jars and cages to study and take apart! See how powerful they were locked away and ripped open. That thought almost gave her hope. Almost.

Snarling angrily, the weasel thrashed in the doorway, still trying to enter the toy castle despite the hopelessness of being able to fit through the narrow entrance. How humiliating that it had allowed its prey to escape! The cracked eye worked as a kaleidoscope would - scattering the vision of the weasel's left eye and making it more difficult to pinpoint its prey's location.
Twitching its head to the side, the clear half of the skullbeast's vision spotted a figure on the far side of the castle that was wearing the exact clothing its prey was. But why was he not running, fleeing? Was he taunting the weasel? Jaws gaping in a large razor-lined roar, the weasel scratched against the plastic floor before wedging itself out backward. It would have to find another way in. Studying the many windows and crannies of the castle, there seemed to be no visible entryway large enough for a sizable skullbeast . How unfortunate. If the weasel couldn't reach the doll, it would have to drive him out. Tail lashing back and forth, the weasel skullbeast paced from side to side before lunging at the castle. The large shape rammed into one side, and then another, attempting to rattle the plastic structure enough to scare its quarry out from the shelter of the medieval toy's walls.
Unlike their larger sibling, the two rats were still lost as to where the smaller doll had hidden herself. Looking for a being made of cloth in a section filled with cloth-composed objects was nearly overwhelming. Where could they start, to prove themselves worthy? They had to find the little stitch, and if they were successful - and the weasel lost its side of the job, maybe then they wouldn't hear as many jibes and comments toward their uselessness. The larger rat skittered over to one of the shelves and began to make its way up the side, teeth chattering excitedly as it hunted. Sooner or later, the little doll would have to show herself. She couldn't stay hidden for long, and they had all the patience in the world.

By the time Kuu reached the top of the stairs, he bolted out of the doorway to the top of the castle... only to rush back in as he noticed the machine had backed out of the lower doorway. From what he glimpsed at outside the castle, he noticed the other two machines weren't beside the larger one in Kuu's pursuit. "Hang in there Dove. I'll think of something..." Just as he had thought this, the anima was taken off his feet by the impact the weasel beast made against the toy building. Kuu scrambled back to his feet, and braced for the next impact. It just knocked him right back on his knees, yet when he rose up this time an angered yet determined expression came on his face. A copper hand then removed the dart from the crossbow, and the other flung the weapon down the steps to create a noise and attempt to distract the beast. Then with proper assumed timing, Kuu made a mad dash out to the top of the castle. He kept on running until coming to a jump right at the edge of the rooftop. The mad leap Kuu made was aimed to land him atop the weasel skullbeasts head. The plan was to mount the beast, and land a blow to it's eyes with the dart in order to blind it. To his relief, Kuu now noticed the actual damage he already made.

The little machine claws and the sound of the weasle at work with her friend both kept her on end. Dove was tensed as one came closer to her hiding spot; it was looking, and if looking didn't do any good, they'd likely wait for her to give herself away. There was really no way out of this. She resisted the urge to scream for Kuu, and hoped they'd eventually just sit and wait. If they were still, there was less a chance of them finding her. She could wait a long time, too. See if they liked doing nothing for several hours! That is, if her detective friend wasn't able to save her.
Now she just need to keep still and quiet until Kuu came to be her knight in armor; she was trying to stay optimistic now. If the rats didn't come back further onto the shelf to look behind the toys that lined it, she'd be just fine.

The abrupt crash of something falling down the stairs was enough to make the Weasel Skullbeast pause its body assaults. Lunging with a triumphant look in its eyes, the skullbeast stuck its head once again through the narrow doorway and into the castle. The sharp-toothed beast was hoping for the sight of the doll sprawled at the base of the stairs, but was instead met with the sight of the flying sting weapon the doll had used earlier. Blinking in confusion, the bone beast thrashed its head from side to side, inspecting what it could of the castle (as it now discovered that the body off to the side was just a ploy and not its true victim). If the weapon was here… then where was the doll?
The weasel's silent question was answered when it felt a weight land on its back, the only accessible spot the doll could land since the beast's head was still inside the castle. Jumping in surprise, the skullbeast knocked its head against the top of the doorway and fell still for a moment to calm its rattled cogs. Scrambling to back out into the open, the weasel instantly began to buck it's haunches and spin in circles, looking much like a bucking bronco would in a rodeo. Craning its head back, the bone beast parted its fangs in a spine-tingling roar and snapped at the doll on its back. "//HISSSSSSOFFOFFDOLL!//"
The rat still on the floor turned its head to face the direction of the commotion it could hear coming from a few aisles down. If the weasel could do one thing right, it was announcing to the entire emptiness that they were here. The rat on the shelf clicked its fangs and shook its head from side to side, continuing to sniff around before it grabbed at the nearest fabric animal. Sinking its teeth into the side, it dragged it to the edge of the shelf and let the shape plummet to the ground while the other rat scrabbled to get out of the way, chattering angrily as it did so. Not minding a few foul words from its brother, the rat on the shelf went to the next fabric animal and did the same - now planning to remove the creatures one at a time until the smaller doll had nowhere left to hide.

With his fairly rash plan foiled, Kuu had to think fast as he was now hanging on the backside of the beast that was alternatively bucking to toss him off and bending back it's head to snap at him. The jaws on this beast looked too powerful to Kuu for him to try and catch them and pry the jaw against the joint to dislocate it. Holding on wasn't too difficult at first when the young anima simply gripped around what served as the backbone of the beast with his free hand and the point of the dart in the other. Yet, his satchel broke free from under Kuu's chest after the third buck of the weasel skullbeast. It then started to flail outwards with each fast movement by the machine and its weight was enough to start tearing Kuu's grip loose. The situation wasn't looking good, as there was a high probability taht if he lost his grip the machine would have a clear shot at him after he fell with little opportunity for the lightweight stitch to defend. The determination returned to his face though, amidst another snap from the automaton monster. Kuu's calculating optics viewed the red lit optics of the monster in the dark, "Focus grip with left hand and dart, Grasp shoulder bag with free hand, Anticipate machine's movement then strike, While taken off guard, Drop to floor then strike again, While hindered, Flee and find Dove" As soon as it came clear in his mind, Kuu performed each action in succession. First, he drew back the dart hand and drove the point of it between the link of the backbone and the torso of the machine. This action might have been uncomfortable when noticed, yet was harmless. The initial strike came as soon as Kuu gripped his satchel with the free hand and swung it hard over his head. Aiming it and timing it just right, the bag smashed right down on the skull of the machine as it came within range. While not deadly heavy of a blow due to the light weight of the partially filled satchel in comparison to the machine, the blow might have managed to leave a mark on the bone covering as it struck. After this motion was completed, Kuu released his grip on the dart and fell off the beast to the side. In a roll, he shoved his freed hand into the satchel. As soon as he was on his feet, the bag strap was back over his shoulder and his hand now held another dart. With a mad dash again, Kuu laid assault on the beast by trying to ram the tiny harpoon hard into the socket joint of the beast's closest hind foot.

Dove was in deep trouble now! Rather than just move down and look for her or nudge into the back, the rat decided it would be smart and move the stuffed creatures instead. Clever clever. She had to think fast; either she keep in place and have them eventually find her, or she could try to move down further. Whatever she chose, she would have to run in the end. Stalling felt like the better option, but they would be able to hear her moving because of her metal feet hitting the shelf. Unless she moved very very slow, but that would get her no where.
The solution would have to be run, as terrifying as it made her feel. She would skitter down the shelf, keeping behind the stuffed animals, then get back down on the floor and- she didn't know what she'd do after that. Maybe try to find a new hiding spot, but the rats already proved they were intelligent enough to find her, they could likely find her a second time even easier than the first.
As the machine got ever closer, Dove began to shake again, trying to mentally prepare herself. Here goes nothing. She got up on her trembling legs, and ran away from the direction the rat was coming from. She knew it could hear her; her foot steps made a clanking sound as she tried to run as fast as she could. The rat would have been alerted to her by now, and would take action, so in a panic Dove pushed her way back onto the open space of the shelf in plane sight. From there, she got on her knees, and started to let herself down. By now she was unable to keep quiet, feeling just about as scared as earlier if not more since Kuu wasn't with her. "Kuu!! Help!" She yelled, hoping he'd be able to hear her over all the noise coming from his direction.
A thought suddenly hit her as she took a short drop to the ground and fell on her bottom - what if the rats were faster than her. It was likely her only way out though, so she had to try. Quickly she stood(almost falling again), and darted forward- running right into the other rat.
A shriek came unsteaily out of her mouth as she stepped back and stared in horror, frozen. I'mgoingtodie!

For a moment, the weasel was certain that the doll's time was running out. In a matter of moments, the doll would be between the sharp teeth of its jaws and the skullbeast would be trotting back to the Factory with its prey in tow. An uncomfortable throb punctured through this perfectly laid-out vision, and a warning hiss broke through the teeth of the bone beast when it felt something lodged in between two vertebra of its powerful spine. Just as it was about to twist its head back and snap its jaws down angrily on the leg of its tiny prey, a weight smashed against the skull head, jostling the cogs and wires of the inner mind's anatomy.
Not having expected the attack, the weasel went still more out of shock than pain. This stillness only lasted a few moments, but it was enough time to give the doll a chance to dismount the skullbeast's back. Shaking its head from side to side, the bone beast emitted an infuriated growl and began to turn to get its prey back in sight, but was stopped short when a snarl had to escape in response to yet another bloom of pain. The dart left in the weasel's spinal column made it uncomfortable to twist around as the beast's gaping maw was opened and jaws were snapped toward the doll, clawed hands swiping at the little shape in synchronization. The harpooned foot trembled under the weight of the beast, and the weasel knew very well that if it didn't snare the doll now, he would be able to outrun the overeager hunter.
- - - Just as the little doll had expected, the rat on the shelf heard the clank of footsteps the instant they first hit the metal base where the toys were rested. Teeth chattering in excitement, the rat scrabbled over a fabric animal and began to pursue the fleeing prey. The doll made it even easier to locate her when she shouted out - calling for her companion who was most likely already captured. No one's coming for you, littledoll! The rat on the floor had been alerted when its brother chattered up on the shelf, and it had begun to slink closer in an attempt to get a look at where the doll might have gotten to. When the little blue shape came into view, the rat lurched toward her, the shriek of fear proving the fact that the doll hadn't expected the rat to be there. As the larger rat on the shelf began to skid its way down the side and to the floor, the smaller one lunged to try and clamp its jaws down on either side of the doll's leg, jerking its head to the side in an attempt to trip her. //GOTgotGOTDOLL!//
