"Hnnggghhhh!"
A nasally grunt came from Kuu as he wasn't able to fully escape the beast's claws as they closed on him. A blade caught and ripped open a decent sized horizontal gash along the fabric skin on 32's back. The pain only made him move the faster now, though. And relief, in addition to natural fight-or-flight instincts, numbed the sting of his wound as Kuu found that the further damage he did to the weasel beast now indeed partially crippled it enough to slow it down. Before the investigator spent more than a brief moment wondering where Dove might be and what her situation was, he heard the sudden cry for help. Kuu answered the call with swift, stealthy feet and without a word from the mouth. Not just yet. He didn't like to leave Dove in doubt that he was coming to her rescue, but it was a small price to pay compared to alerting the other machines that Kuu was coming after them before he could get the edge of surprise.
After turning a corner close by to where he heard Dove's cry come from, the investigator turned warrior reached for another dart. What he got was a dart, yes, but with something attached to it. Of course. It was a magnet he didn't get a chance to properly stow after confiscating it off a closet junky at the Cathedral. It wasn't a super magnet, but it was fairly powerful for it's size. Kuu had to give a good tug to remove the dart from it. He didn't discard the magnet, though he wanted to. The things weren't something a ragdoll should get into, but it could possibly provide another much more constructive use in this case.
Kuu rounded the other corner, and sped toward the rat creatures. One hand held the dart, while the other held the magnet. Just as Dove came into view, Kuu noticed one of the automatons already moving to strike at her legs. He had to act fast.
"Hey! I've gotta bone to pick with you skullheads!" shouted Kuu as it was now imperative to get the attention of the machines off Dove. As he came nearer, 32 readied his hands and the tools they held.
